Green Party leader, Eamonn Ryan, says that there is no need for the NTA to acquire front gardens to increase road widths, according to an article in The Irish Times. “Rather than always having a four lane solution, you could always use traffic lights (to give buses and cyclist priority).” Mr Ryan called for public transport investment to be increased to two-thirds of the transport infrastructure budget. At the same event, Dr Lorraine D’Arcy, transport and mobility lecturer at TUD, said that there was a tendency to design ‘carchitectrure’.
